Hop Bomb Masterpiece
Every now and then, a beer comes along that doesn't just quench your thirst—it grabs you by the taste buds, drags you into a hop-drenched dream, and reminds you why you fell in love with beer in the first place. That beer, for me, is the Double-Barrelled x Cloudwater DIPA. And let me say it outright: this is the best beer I’ve had in a long, long while.
Right from the pour, this Double IPA makes its intentions clear. It arrives hazy and radiant, like golden sunshine with attitude. The aroma? A full-on sensory ambush. Bursts of mango, pineapple, dank resin, and a touch of citrus rind leap from the glass. There’s no subtlety here—and thank God for that. This is a hop lover's paradise.
The first sip hits like a freight train of flavour. Juicy tropical fruits lead the charge—ripe mango, peach, and passionfruit—before a wave of pine and sticky bitterness rolls in to remind you this is no fruit smoothie. There’s a pillowy malt backbone that keeps everything balanced, but make no mistake: the hops are the star of this show. They strut, they shout, and they absolutely sing.
What sets this beer apart is its finesse in power. At a hefty ABV (which you’ll feel, eventually), it never becomes cloying or aggressive. It's bold but polished, like a headbanger in a tailored suit. The mouthfeel is luscious and smooth, almost creamy, coaxing you back in for sip after sip, when finished the thirst quenching Ding is the perfect palate cleanser!
Honestly? I was enthused, my bank account would differ, initially ordered a cautious 6 before succumbing to the full 12….i just had to….18 beers that are a must!! Not just satisfied, but genuinely excited. This DIPA is the kind of beer that reignites your enthusiasm for the craft scene. It's collaborative brewing at its absolute finest
If you're a fan of hops, flavour, and beers that actually make you feel something, seek this one out. It's a limited release, so don’t sleep on it. Oh and did I mention you must also order the stem glass, the two together are just pure Utopia …what a nightclub that was by the way….
This is a strong beer that is very drinkable. In the mouth it tastes very smooth then you get all the subtle flavours. Enjoyed a small glass whilst sharing with family.
I’ve been waiting for this to arrive and what a collab it is! Full of fruit with the right amount of hoppiness to finish! A beauty!
